431 - Gary Gulman: "I'm Not Suffering from Depression Anymore"
31/01/2019 Duration: 01h35minThe first time Gary Gulman came on my podcast, he was totally depressed. He had difficulty speaking. He was hunched over. I almost felt bad for inviting him. But he was really candid. And I wanted to be his friend. He's likable and his comedy always makes me laugh. This is his third time on the show. And he's not suffering from depression anymore. He told me about the medical changes he's made, the support of his loved one, and (best of all) finding his way back to feeling normal. "I wasn't myself for so long," he said. "And now to be myself is so exhilarating." But I realize a lot of people, even people without depression, don't have the safe and secure feeling of being themselves on a daily basis. So this episode can help you if you feel stuck in some version of yourself that wants to grow and be different and be healthy again. I write about all my podcasts! Going back to Russia is not an option for him. When I asked him, "Would you be in trouble?" he said, "Trouble is an understatement." 15/01/2019 Duration: 58minLori Gottlieb is a psychotherapist and the author of an upcoming book called "Maybe You Should Talk to Someone." 426 - Gilbert Gottfried: Laugh Everyday (It's Medicine For Your Day)
10/01/2019 Duration: 01h13minGilbert Gottfried started doing stand-up comedy when he was 15 years old. He dropped out of high school and within 10 years he was on Saturday Night Live. And he built his career up from there. But he's also been the center of a lot of controversies. People get upset at comedians for "going too far." But Gilbert does it for a reason... He said, "I remember, I did this show that was a tribute to Joan Rivers. It was right after there was that shooting at a gay nightclub. I started doing jokes about the shooting and the audience was laughing all the way through and you know, Joan Rivers has a large gay audience. One guy tweeted me and he said, 'I never thought that I'd wake up crying and go to sleep laughing.'" It's easy to misunderstand people. And get upset. Whenever I'm made, I say to myself, "This means I'm not understanding something." So then I move that anger into curiosity. I kept asking Gilbert about his jokes. And we walked me through the humor. This episode will make you laugh and maybe uncomfortable

11/12/2018 Duration: 01h06minI went on Jamie Kilstein's podcast. And the conversation got intense. So I asked to publish it on my podcast, too. Here it is.
