Synopsis
After the funeral of Archer, a classmate she hardly knew, popular but lonely Hadley Jamison is approached by a man who claims to be Death. He offers her a chance to go back in time--27 days--to stop Archer's suicide. She accepts, but her friends are hostile to her attempts to befriend Archer, and after integrating herself into his family, she begins to see issues with her own family. Havoc, a second paranormal character, further complicates Hadley's efforts. The legions of teens who do most of their pleasure reading on Wattpad and other fan-fiction sites will be accustomed to the style, which includes some clunky language and clichand eacute;d phrases. Listeners looking for Christian fiction that does not judge or condemn will be gratified by the respectful depiction of a kind, caring Catholic priest. Hoffman's youthful-sounding, straightforward narration is fitting for the story, unobtrusively enveloping the listener in Hadley's world. --Booklist for the In 27 Days Audiobook
