Tozer Topic: False Teaching Scripture(s): 1 Peter 3:18-24   Description: A critically important theology lesson designed to armor the people of God against heretics who use certain hard, obscure texts from the Bible to teach things that the Bible never says at all. In “False Teaching on Obscure Teaching,” A. W. Tozer demolishes several dark misrepresentations of First Peter 3:18-24 and 4:6, by shining upon them the brilliant light of the rest of God’s Word. “Let me give you a good working rule for the understanding of Scripture: if you haven’t more than one verse to support it, don’t teach it. Because if it isn’t found in more than one verse of the Bible, the chances are it isn’t found there, either.” Pastor Tozer preached the 29th part of his 34-part series on First Peter in Chicago, Illinois, on June 13, 1954.   A Free Salvation by C. H. Spurgeon Topic:  Scripture(s): Isaiah 55:1   Description: Delivered on Friday Afternoon, June 11, 1858 "Yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price."—Isaiah 55:1. In this sermon Spurgeon wonderfully offers the Gospel, "without money and without price" to everyone w ho is able to "know enough to know yourself a lost sinner, and Christ a great Saviour." He pleads with poor sinners that no matter how great their sin may be, his mercy is, and always will be, greater. He takes use of many examples of people who try to get into heaven with money, with price. He explains how many people without God spend their days trying not to focus on Eternity, and trying to focus instead on the temporal. He charges the person thus without God to instead dare ponder his own soul's destination, that he will spend forever in Hell until he turns to the cross of Christ. Then he offers a firm and resolute "entreat to believe on the Lord Jesus." 

 (1 Peter - Part 25): On Wives and Their Place in Family Life by A.W. Tozer Topic: Family Life Scripture(s): 1 Peter 3:1-7   Description: The subject of 1 Peter 3:1-7 is no joking matter. In the home, says Dr. Tozer, “there’s place for recognition of the proper relationships and positions, but there is no place for domination.” “The dominating wife is a product of sin and of unbelief,” the pastor declares, “and has no place whatsoever in the will of God.” As for the husband, there is no biblical example, anywhere, for the brutal lord who rules his home with an iron hand. Pastor Tozer bravely tackles the subject of how a woman should dress, by describing four general traits: clean, neat, modest, and appropriate. “On Wives and Their Place in Family Life” is the 25th message in this 34-part study of Peter’s first epistle.
