A fairly busy week for the Minnesota Wild, making four trades, two of which were fairly popular younger players in Brandon Duhaime and Connor Dewar, along with veterans Patrick Maroon and Nic Petan. Marat Khusnutdinov made his arrival in Minnesota, and any day now, will be in the lineup, for the long-term future! The Minnesota Wild had a solid week, beating the Oilers in Edmonton, following up with a 5-2 convincing win in Seattle, and ultimately coughing up the lead twice to Carolina, in a week where Kirill Kaprizov would bring in the NHL's number one star. The Minnesota Wild had a crazy up and down week, blowing the Buffalo game at the last second, having a 6 goal flurry vs Vancouver in a game where they were getting smoked, and then indeed were beaten thoroughly in Winnipeg. The Minnesota Wild lost in sad fashion to the Philadelphia Flyers, blowing a 3-1 lead, but that paled in comparison to the almost unthinkable 6-0 embarrassment to the Arizona Coyotes, at home! After a players only meeting, the Wild came out on MLK Day, with Jonas Brodin back in the lineup and played a complete game versus the New York Islanders. The Minnesota Wild had a solid 3-1 week, thanks to Filip Gustavsson's overall strong performance. Marc Andre Fleury also was a standout in Boston, helping guide the Wild to one of the best wins of the season. The winning streak ended slow and painful in Vancouver, when a promising first period lead to a lot less exciting rest of the game, getting shutout by good backup Casey DeSmith. Edmonton was a back and forth battle, where a controversial hit on the boards by Evander Kane, lead to Jonas Brodin suffering an apparent broken arm or wrist. Thankfully, the "Gus Bus" was ready to add a shutout of his own in Seattle.
