2014 Elections Portal, Republic of New Afrika Every three years, we have an opportunity to vote for those we feel would best represent us in the Provisional Government.  One of the things EVERY citizen can do is participate in the Local and National Elections.  Citizens can also help organize local polls as well as run for office on the local and national level.  Remember, your vote in local and national elections now sets the stage for your vote in the Independence Plebiscite coming up. Black Nationalism In the strictest meaning of the term, black nationalism refers to those ideas and movements that are associated with the quest to achieve separate statehood for African Americans. The goal of statehood was especially important during the “classical” period of black nationalism—the time of Marcus Garvey (the 1920s) and of the early activists who preceded him. During the “modern” period, especially after World War II, black nationalism encompasses more broadly both those who favored true political sovereignty through separate statehood, and those who favored more modest goals like black administration of vital private and public institutions—the latter being the common cause of those who invoked the slogan of “Black Power” after 1966. Black nationalism must always be understood in its historical context, therefore, as particular ideas and movements invariably bear the marks of their respective eras.

STRANGE FRUITZ RISINZ WOULD LIKE TO PAY THEIR  TRIBUTE A GREAT FREEDOM FIGHTER AND TRUE BLACK LIBERATOR BABA HERMAN FERGUSON.Herman Ferguson was one the founding members of Malcolm X’s Organization of Afro-American Unity. He also helped to organize the Republic of new Afrika and was a member of the Revolutionary Action Movement (RAM). As a member of RAM, Herman was arrested for conspiracy to assassinate Roy Wilkins of the NAACP and Whitney Young of the Urban League. Herman was sentenced to 3 and a half – 7 years, but he fled the country and surfaced in Guyana where he lived and worked for the next 19 years. In 1989 he returned to the United States where he was promptly arrested and imprisoned for seven years. Today he has been released and serves as the co-chair of the Jericho Movement, and as the chair of the Malcolm X Commemoration Committee.
