Hockey's Future Podcast

The first round of the 2011 CHL playoffs have been completed and the second is underway, so it's time to take a look at some of the more notable players and series in the CHL.  Joining us to discuss the CHL playoffs are HF writers Kevin Forbes, Jason Menard, and Glen Erickson.

The 2011 NCAA Frozen Tournament takes place this weekend in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Hockey's Future writer DJ Powers will be in attendance to provide coverage of the event, which includes this HF Podcast.  DJ covers some of the key players taking part in this tournament, plus the Hobey Baker selection and her choice to win the NCAA championship.

The Ontario Hockey Federation today took the unusual step of granting "exceptional player" status to defenseman Aaron Ekblad of the Sun County Panthers Minor Midget AAA program.  Ekblad will be eligible for the OHL Priority Selection that will take place in May.  The OHL held a press conference today announcing Ekblad's status, which can be hear in its entirety in this HF Podcast.  Paul Krotz, Manager of Media and Information Services for the CHL and OHL, is the presenter, with both Aaron Ekblad and his father taking part in the press conference.
