In 1975, Lindsay  went to Africa traveled across the Sahara Desert, teaching in Ghana and photograph the FESTAC festival in Nigeria. He was detained in Nigria because of his friendship with Fela Ransome Kuti. Lindsay and Bob Marley build a solid friendship, Rita and was the first to photograph "The Melody Makers".
