For the last party of 2024 we thought it fitting to see out the year with a BANG. A B3B to be remembered, @RabbitTaxi, @oncumyilmaz and Rubio at the dials from 4-midnight. Beginning the session in true Rabbit Taxi style we decided on an ode to the inimitable Smokers Lounge series, starting slow, eclectic and psychedelic.

Final set from our August Foray into Naarm's rooftop bars comes from the inimitable @personar1 b2b @magal_tm ❤️ Expect the lot as these two ride the waves of genres and seasons. The sky shifting before our eyes from the DJ booth of Rooftop Bar in typical Naarm fashion. It was light and airy, and dark and moody, a storm washed through for a spell, but the beats didn't stop, they simply evolved. Huge thank you to Per Sonar and Magál for stepping up to that plate and filling the space with sound. Please enjoy

To cap off our little trip down to Naarm in August, Myself and Cricket played a little b2b extendo set up at Rooftop Bar. It was a windy, rainy evening and we let the weather control the vibes. We threw down some power ballads, some deep groovers, and some minimal head nodders, some classic disco, some slinky UKG, you get the jist. It was a great time and I hope it comes across. Last but certainly not least on the decks at the takeover of Runner Up Rooftop was @nickspurwaydj bringing another beautifully measured, eclectic yet cohesive set of dance floor heaters from across the spectrum

Way back in January I had the opportunity to play an hour of tear out, Hi NRG Disco for a friends Studio 54 themed birthday party. It was right up there with my favourite sets I've played all year. Those that know me know I have a real soft spot for Big Powerful Disco numbers so it should come as no surprise that I absolutely milked the opportunity to go all in on that energy. DJ / producer / founder of agency Electronic Music Life @jameslocksmith got down with us at our WIP Music x Freedom Sessions collabo party back in July for a real treat of a set. The multi hyphenate delivered a gorgeous set on the licorice discs to a packed courtyard over the course of his one and a half hours. Ducking and weaving through sounds from across the globe, keeping everyone in the place locked into the groove and hanging on his every move. Back in July we joined forces with WIP Music & Freedom Sessions to throw a proper house event in the Gladdy Courtyard. The vibes were sky high all day into night and Cricket laid the foundation with these superb and eclectic opening selections. Jumping from Latin to Afro to Disco to Soulful house over the course of her set, you can always trust Cricket to deliver the goods. Please enjoy the first 1.5h of the party as they occurred. This is the start of new semi regular mix series curated by me, Rubio. A collection of Street Soul, RnB, Northern Soul, New Jack Swing, early Hip Hop and other downtempo bits of fun produced in the 80's and 90's. Good for your weekend afternoons, or cruising around the beaches in the sunshine with the top down, wind in your hair, chillin' on the stoop, you know... however you want to enjoy it ❤️‍
