We are again talking traffic, this time with Jon Rudder, traffic anchor and helicopter reporter for WEWS-TV, NewsChannel5 in Cleveland. Jon tells us about what is happening on the roads and in the air above Cleveland. We share a voicemail (303-832-0217) about a suggested safety message that could go on a DOT message board. If you have plans on scamming your way onto the HOV lanes, here is one way not to do it. To recline your airline seat or not, that is the question. Do you have your real ID yet? You better get one soon. 20/02/2020 Duration: 56min

So says new research from our guest Dr Celine Vetter, the senior author for A Chronobiological Evaluation of the Acute Effects of Daylight Saving Time on Traffic Accident Risk. https://www.cell.com/current-biology/fulltext/S0960-9822(19)31678-1#%20 What if you had your car taken away if you get too many red light tickets? It’s an idea in NYC that they hope will change driver behavior. Don’t show up drunk to your DUI court date. What are the most stolen cars? And we open up the voicemail bag. Rebecca tells us about the rapid growth in middle Tennessee, the added congestion, the lack of transit and her feelings about people who don't know how to use traffic circles. This is the beginning of the end to emotional support animals on planes. One artist tricked Google into reporting a phantom traffic jam caused by 99 cell phones and a little red wagon. No sir, you can’t take your mothers drivers test for her. And you might get arrested if you lead your asses down the middle of the street. And the Wienermobile isn’t relishing this news. • E155 - No one wants to see traffic on Snapchat Brenda

    23/01/2020 Duration: 44min

Hey, what do you know. Joseph is back from his month long hiatus. One drunk driver made it very easy for the cops to find him. Australia authorities have enacted a wildly high fine against drivers who may start a wildfire. Do higher speed limits kill or are people just driving faster no matter what the limit is? Police in one state now are not allowed to ask any questions of you except for what they pulled you over for. How does that affect what they do and you as a driver? And the Georgia Department of Transportation held a contest looking for the best highway sign messages. We go through the winners and losers so you can decide what is good and bad. Arrive describes itself as the leading provider of solutions for the last-mile of mobility. They power the apps ParkWhiz and BestParking allowing people to find and book parking spots. We debunk several winter driving hacks put out by AllState Insurance. Could it be the end of the drive as fast as you want autobahn? More cities are partnering with Waze to help drivers navigate trouble spots in their cities. Some very smart scientists think they can change truck exhaust into liquid fuel. And another reason to own a dash cam, getting out of a ticket. We have all the details from ABC Radio Correspondent Alex Stone who was at the show. • 152 - Should trucks be restricted to only night time hours or just the right lane?

    19/12/2019 Duration: 55min

It is time to again talk trucking. After being accused of hating trucks and truck drivers, I invited Andrea Marks, Communications Director for TruckerNation to be on the show to talk about two ideas viewers sent to me. One was asking if trucks should only drive at night while another viewer asked if trucks should only drive in the right lane all to reduce traffic during rush hours. Andrea answers those questions and more as we talk about several issues facing the trucking industry. There are spoiled kids and then there is this kid. Spirit airlines is trying to get better doing things they should have been doing all along. And it is fine if you want to get on a bus but just leave me home. • E150 - We'll have to politely pass on this one

    04/12/2019 Duration: 36min

For the first time ever we have been denied for an interview request. The story is about how DOT’s around the country are selling your personal data for money. A practice that many think is wrong and should stop. The cannonball run has a new speed record. No, not by Burt Renyolds. And we open the listener mail bag. I interviewed Dr Charles Platkin, the Executive Director of Hunter College’s NYC Food Policy Center to talk more about this. Tesla has a futuristic truck with a major demonstration fail. • E148 - If the driver is distracted then any accident could be argued an on-purpose

    21/11/2019 Duration: 43min

Should we increase fines for distracted driving or install more red light cameras and take the revenue to improve intersection safety? That is the argument we discuss after reading an article suggesting more red light cameras makes cities safer. Some people should not start off a phone conversation with the “hey, it’s me”. Why were you speeding sir? I was trying to get home after spending time with my mistress. And the regular guy should be off on holidays. All that and more on the Driving You Crazy Podcast.  Andy Bossleman Article: https://www.denverpost.com/2019/11/15/guest-commentary-to-save-lives-denver-must-commit-to-more-red-light-cameras/ Contact: 303-832-0217 or DrivingYouCrazyPodcast@Gmail.com Jayson: twitter.com/Denver7Traffic or www.facebook.com/JaysonLuberTrafficGuy  Joseph: twitter.com/josephdenver7   Production Notes: Open music: jazzyfrenchy by Bensound Close music: Latché Swing by Hungaria

    14/11/2019 Duration: 39min

What would it look like if every city had free transit? Would you ride it more often? What would it cost? Is it a worthwhile idea? One person who has looked into this idea is Rosalie Ray. Rosalie is a Ph.D. student in Urban Planning at Columbia University. She received her B.A. in Economics from Smith College and her Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA. Before going to UCLA, she worked as an economist at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Rosalie’s past research explored the prospects of fare-free transit in the United States and that includes a chapter in the book…

One gas station owner converted his store from gas to electric but it still isn’t an ideal situation. Do you have what it takes to be a parking lot attendant?
