There is a new study that finds that the water on board most major airlines that is served to passengers is so unsafe that you shouldn’t even wash your hands with it. The shocking discovery was made by Hunter College’s Food Policy Center and Diet-Detective.com, who investigated the water quality of 23 different US airlines. Should we increase fines for distracted driving or install more red light cameras and take the revenue to improve intersection safety? What would it look like if every city had free transit? Would you ride it more often? What would it cost? Is it a worthwhile idea? One person who has looked into this idea is Rosalie Ray. Rosalie is a Ph.D. student in Urban Planning at Columbia University. She received her B.A. in Economics from Smith College and her Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from UCLA. Before going to UCLA, she worked as an economist at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Rosalie’s past research explored the prospects of fare-free transit in the United States and that includes a chapter in the book…
