Take a trip back in time to the days of Wicca, goth clubwear in regular clothing rotation, handheld digital camcorders and spiky bedhead hair matched with terrible chin patches. Sometimes all it takes for the nerdy guy to become the cool guy is a killer car. Get it? A KILLER CAR?? What we're trying to say here is that John Carpenter's adaption of Stephen King's book CHRISTINE (1980) is about a murderous automobile. While relatively bloodless (in true King adaption fashion), this one rules and is arguably one of the best big screen King movies as well as a damn fine entry into Carpenter's filmography. After all these years, we may finally be scraping the bottom of the proverbial chum bucket for Jaws ripoffs because Matt subjected us to a truly terrible one: 1979's Corman creature feature UP FROM THE DEPTHS.
