In this Episode, Naho and Michael chat about Show and Tell in Japan. For Naho’s class project, she did some research on recycling in Germany. Pretty interesting system they have there. Check it out…we hope you like it! 皆さま、いつもPodcast を聞いてくださり、ありがとうございます。 今回の娘の話は、日本の公立小学校の4年生の授業で行われる、学習発表会についてです。 39人のクラスメイトがグループに分かれ、先生からそれぞれのグループに課題が与えられ、それぞれが、そのトピックについて調べて発表します。 メイントピックは、ゴミ問題。 娘のグループは、「外国のゴミへの取り組み事情」でした。 娘は、インターネットで、ドイツがゴミ問題に取り組む先進国であることを調べ、そのユニークな取り組みを発表しています。 日本の公立小学校でも、自分達で調べて発表するという授業が行われるようになりました。 今までの、日本の公立小学校では、受け身の授業が多かったと思いますが、時代の流れとともに、子供達が自分で考え行動することが重要視され、指導されるようになったんだなぁと嬉しく思いました。 マザーグースの歌も、娘の独自のメロディーで紹介しています。 マザーグースの歌詞は、子供だけでなく、大人にとっても意味の分からない箇所が多いと思いますが、娘の歌を聴いていると、意味が分からなくても歌っているだけで、その楽しさが伝わってきます。 ぜひ、その楽しさを感じていただけると嬉しいです。

We hope you like it! 皆さんこんにちは。 いつも私達のPodcastを聴いて下さって、ありがとうございます。 今回は、日本のお月見について娘がMichael先生に説明をしています。 お月見がいつから始まったのか？ 毎月1度は満月があるのに、なぜこの時期だけにお月見をするのか？など、Michael先生から娘への質問が飛び交います。 また、お月様は、長い間、お団子ばかり食べているので、喉が乾いてしまうのではという娘の問いかけに対し、Michael先生が、月には水がないから、たぶんそうだろう〜と言って、ジョークで答えています。 さて、喉の渇いたお月様に、娘は飲み物として何をお供えしたでしょうか？ いつもの早口言葉とknock knock jokesも紹介しています。どちらも、英語のリズムと英語の耳を持っている子供には、とても面白いものだと思います。 ぜひお子様と聴いてみて下さい。

Podcast 11では、世界中で放送されている英語学習者のためのPodcastの種類を述べた後、なぜ英語だけで私たちがpodcastを放送しているのかを説明していました。 その後、幼い頃から英語をたくさん聴いて育った娘には、私とは違う脳の構造があることも説明しています。 私のように、大人になってから英語を第二言語として学習した人の脳には、母国語という大きな袋の中に、第二言語である英語が存在しているのに対し、(Michael先生は、その脳をアボカドに例えています?) 幼い頃から英語をたくさん聴いて、母国語と同じように育てられた子供には、まるで卵の中に2つの卵黄があるような形で英語が存在していることです。 バイリンガルの脳を持つ子供は、英語日本語と使い分けを意識しないで言葉を発することが多いため、特に幼い頃は、自分が英語を話しているのに日本語を話していると思い込んでいたりすることもあり、周りの子供たちに何を言っているかわからないと誤解されることもあったように思います。 第二言語として英語を習得している人が、英語を上達させるには、脳の中の英語域を大きくし、外から入ってきた英語が、なるべく早く英語域に届くようにすることが必要だと思います。 その部分が大きくなればなるほど、英語に対して英語で反応することも、少しずつですが、容易になってくると思います。 そのためにも、Michael先生が言うように、あえて英語のみの母国語のない放送で、しかも、誰かと誰かが話している会話を中心としたpodcastを聴く事は、英語のCommunication能力を育てるために、とても有効だと言えるでしょう。 エピソード12においても、Podcastの種類について述べていますが、今回はMichael先生が行っているpodcastについても詳しく述べています。 Con

We hope you like it! 皆さんこんにちは。 今回のpodcastの内容は、親御様向けになっています。 . 英語で話すだけのpodcastを聴いていても、内容がよくわからないし、どんなふうにpodcastを聞いたら、より効果的に英語学習できるのかな…というお話を、いろいろな方から伺っていたので、今回、取り上げることになりました。 . 英語学習者にとって、Podcastの番組を大きく分けると3つになると思います。 . 1つ目は、Michael先生が作っているような、英語のプロフェッショナルの方が英語のフレーズやグラマー、単語について、ネイティブの視点から、世界中の英語学習者に向けて作られている番組。 . こういった番組は、実は世界中に、ものすごくたくさんあります。 正直選ぶのが難しいなぁと思う方は、まずMichael先生の番組を1週間、聞き続けてみてはいかがでしょうか。 彼の声は、日本人にはとても聞きやすく、スピードも少々遅めになっていると思います。 同じ声を聞き続けると、耳がその声になれ、その人の声だと不思議と聞き取れるようになっていくのがわかると思います。 .
