Neely is an ordained minister through the Church of the Nazarene, a hospice chaplain, and a Benedictine novice monk through the House of Initia Nova - an Anglican religious community. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation which looks at  the possibility of monastic spirituality within the Church of the Nazarene.
