Cooper and Radulich review the latest metal opera, Ghostlights by Avantasia. Ghostlights is the seventh full-length album by Tobias Sammet's rock opera project Avantasia. It was released on 29 January 2016. The opening track and first single "Mystery of a Blood Red Rose" is a candidate for the German representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, along with nine other songs. Ghostlights scored the highest positions of any Avantasia release in several international music charts and is only the second time Avantasia has entered the US Billboard 200 albums chart. The plot of the album concludes the story started on The Mystery of Time. Musically, it shows a darker and more theatrical tone than its predecessor, which Sammet claims to have been spontaneous, not planned.

Winfree and Radulich review the latest Marvel property from 20th Century Fox, Deadpool! Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a former Special Forces operative who now works as a mercenary. His world comes crashing down when evil scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein) tortures, disfigures and transforms him into Deadpool. The rogue experiment leaves Deadpool with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humor. With help from mutant allies Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Deadpool uses his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Sooooo Deadpool opened on Friday and, in synergistic fashion, we here at Source Material are bringing to you a series of books pitting our taco-eating merc-with-a-mouth against one of the craziest villains of the Marvel U who might be his psychotic equal... CARNAGE!  It's 4 issues of "Deadpool vs. Carnage" and it is bloody, gory, and insane all in one big chimichanga! Join me as I welcome back one of the biggest Deadpool fans that I know, Justin Thomas.  AND the #RiBN's own resident psycho Carnage-loving ginger, my friend and co-host of the From The Cheap Seats Podcast, Jayson Teasley. Fate leads Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James), a master of martial arts and weaponry, to join forces with Mr. Darcy (Sam Riley), a handsome but arrogant gentleman. Elizabeth can't stand Darcy, but respects his skills as a zombie killer. Casting aside their personal differences, they unite on the blood-soaked battlefield to save their country.

Tonight Ronnie and I talk Back to the Future issues 3 and 4.  What fun things does Doc Brown have in store for us now?  We also discuss what stupid things we have done to impress girls, an interesting discussion on canon, and where would we go if we could travel in time!  We had a lot of fun.

Andrew Graham rejoins Sean Comer and Mark Radulich as they review Peter Jackson's second trip to Middle Earth, The Hobbit.  Since BTR cut off our show 2 weeks ago, we'll spend a few minutes concluding our discussion of Return of the King.  After that we'll dive right into all the pre-production issues that plagued the Hobbit Trilogy.  We'll talk about the special editions and debate whether Jackson should have tried to keep it to 2 movies The Hobbit is a film series consisting of three high fantasy adventure films directed by Peter Jackson. They are based on the 1937 novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, with large portions of the trilogy inspired by the appendices to The Return of the King, which expand on the story told in The Hobbit, as well as new material and characters written especially for the films. The films are subtitled An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Desolation of Smaug (2013), and The Battle of the Five Armies (2014).
