The satirical, science-fiction thriller from Riley Stearns (THE ART OF SELF-DEFENSE) screens as part of the Calgary Underground Film Festival April 21, 2022. The film centres on a woman who opts for a cloning procedure after she receives a terminal diagnosis and is court-martialled to a duel to the death when she starts to recover.The film stars Scottish actress Karen Gillan (JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE) playing opposite herself in the roles of Sarah and Double Sarah, alongside Aaron Paul (BREAKING BAD). DUAL had its world premiere at Sundance 2022, where it was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize.

ORIGINAL AIR DATE 05/06/2021 - Christian Zyp interviewed director Gavin Guerra about his film 'Let the People Decide' for NorthWest Fest 2021. LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE traces the history of voting rights struggles in the United States from 1960 through the present day. The film draws parallels between the Mississippi voter registration drive of the early 1960's and North Carolina's 'Moral Monday' movement in the present day. A key goal of the film is connecting the dots between the generations to contextualize the current political environment surrounding race and voting. 

Lindsey Campbell is joined by Mark Davies for another edition of THANKS TELEFILM where they examine movies that great examples of why their funding is important and why some are... questionableIn RADIUS... Liam wakes from a car crash with no memory of who he is. As he makes his way into town to look for help, he finds only dead bodies, all with strange pale eyes. Liam’s first assessment is that a virus is present in the air, but he soon discovers the horrible truth: anyone who comes within a 50-foot radius of him dies instantly.

Syrian-Canadian filmmaker Amar Chebib began making videos while growing up skateboarding in the Middle East. Over the past decade, he has made various award-winning short films. His most recent work, JOE BUFFALO, is a short hybrid doc executive produced by Tony Hawk and distributed by The New Yorker about an Indigenous skateboarding legend and survivor of Canada’s notorious Indian Residential School system. It screened at Tribeca, won the Audience Award at SXSW, and made the 2021 Awards Shortlists for the IDA and DOC NYC.
