Sometimes it works and sometimes it is an unneeded mess that not even top billing actors can save. We've seen icons brought back- Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, The Ludtz family home, Damien, and Pennywise- they’re all remolded and reworked for what either comes across as a tribute to classic horror or a hollywood vomited cash grab. The newest to tread in this tradition is already both a book and a 1989 cult classic film. Can John Lithgow save us from the usual let down of regurgitated storylines?
