  • Spoils of Ultron - TWB7

    30/05/2015 Duration: 01h01min

Should A.I. be the next major technological advancement scientists and engineers (humankind) pursue? We've accomplished many things since we put a man on the moon, however, we don't have a reliable/assessable flying car nor is time travel in the conversation. Drones are one of the best/worse deterrents in fighting wars but now Amazon wants them for a speedy delivery of your online purchases. The smaller home version makes neat-o Christmas gifts and the next best thing for peeping toms in training and those bottom dwellers upskirt aficionados. Should we actively pursue a life beyond attempts at cloning ourselves or have we already created the thing that would eventually create a life for all mankind to... fear. • Video Killed the Radio Star and Created The Filmmaker - TWB6

    07/05/2015 Duration: 01h10min

Do you watch music videos? Okay, wait… Do watch music videos as you did back in the days of TRL and Video Soul? If you did you’re likely of middle age and would rather spend your time watching Netflix or Hulu or better yet, sleeping. Watching music videos has evolved into something that isn’t the experience I remember it to be back in the 80's and early 90's. Back when we would have to wait for the end of the week for Friday Night Videos or pay for video shows, like,   Video Jukebox Network (or The Box). Much like clothing worn these days an MV release is less about the intrigue and anticipation and more about the shock value. Maybe if it’s the age disparity or maybe I’m just so reluctant to open my eyes (and browser) to see that there are great things happening on the web with Youtube and the music video. I won’t rule it out but when was the last time music video debuted on YouTube and hyped up an album so much you have to rush out to your local Target and purchase a CD you won’t even use? I don’t really d

  • Fast Cars Are A Hazzard for Furious Dukes - TWB5

    11/04/2015 Duration: 49min

There's driving fast and driving with the sense that you cant do everything you see on television and in the movies. Most of those stunts are very dangerous and must not be performed by the average idiot with a nitric oxide tank installed in his '96 Honda CRX. Those disclaimers that state “Do Not Try This At Home” are not to be ignored. Heed the warnings. You are not Steve Mcqueen! Even he needed a stunt double to perform some of the wildest car chases ever to grace the silver screen. Google movies with awesome car chase scenes and BAM! you'll see Bullit among them. Back in those days, directors didn't have fancy computers and digital trickery; they had cars. Cars, a camera, and people who could drive those cars at extreme speeds. Both men and women skilled at the wheel with backbones they were more than willing to break for the perfect shot. Nowadays to flip a car means to film the actor reactions in front of a green screen then send the footage to an artist to make the car look real. Fast and Furious

  • Voice Actors Are The Cyrano De Bergerac's of Hollywood - TWB04

    27/03/2015 Duration: 54min

Y' know that voice in your head you recognize from somewhere that isn't your subconscious demanding you run over that bunch of baby ducks slowly crossing the road when you're already late for work? Voice actors are invisible and materialize here and there as the various characters to whom they give life. They are the Cyrano De Bergerac's within the sea of Hollywood fish who every now and then gulp up the sprinkles of recognition from their holy than thou counterparts. For this discussion, we referenced the documentary "I Know That Voice" -- now on Netflix-- to help us with the ingredients to fulfill this order. First Impressions JAC discusses their initial reactions to the documentary I Know That Voice.  Legendary actor and Mel Blanc, the best of the best, and that great looney tunes episode Rabbit Season, Duck Season. He played both Bugs and Daffy attempted to outwit himself in an epic debate to convince Elmer which animal is in season. Actor vs Actors A-list Hollywood actors get paid millions to voice char

  • Sharknado and The Improbability of the SyFy Network -TWB02

Okay, well leave us a voicemail or email: Phone 520-775-1690 Email contact@talkingwithburritos.com   The Syfy network embraced the ridiculousness of Sharknado and so did fans.  Despite horrible ratings and critical dismay, Syfy continues to employ Ian Ziering and Tara Reid's hand stump double along with a cast of cameos to further the epic disaster spoof franchise. 21/03/2015 Duration: 01h19min

Okay, well leave us a voicemail or email: Phone 520-775-1690 Email contact@talkingwithburritos.com When Jerry came to The Rupel with the brilliant  idea of comparing the tech of today to the technology portrayed in Back to the Future II, he says, "Why don't we just watch all three?" Eureka!  But wait...  BTTF and BTTF3 have nothing to do with the theme of this episode. Who the cares, it's  Back to the Future! More show notes for this episode: TWB003

  • Sock Monsters and Other Cryptoids - TWB01

    21/03/2015 Duration: 50min

The dingoes didn’t eat your socks but we do know what did… sock monsters. They’re in every household orphaning our foot protectors and torturing anyone in a rush to get to work or school. With all these socks and no pairs you’re stuck with three options: throw the socks away, use them as cleaning towels (they make good dusters) or keep them in a [sock] basket and wait until the monster grants you leniency and awards you for being so optimistic. Truth is you will never find that sock. They become as elusive as let’s say the Bigfoot, Loch Ness, or the chupacabra. Maybe you saw it once underneath the couch, a true sighting of which you have proof: a picture. It’s graining but dammit there it is your precious cotton blend. You return to the location of the sighting hoping to reunite it with its mate; however, it’s not there. Three months later, you see it again but what the hell are you going to do with just one sock? Over time human-kind has been given many hints as to what “things” may inhabit this earth hidden
