Urban Exploration Photography Tips - An #Urbexer's Guide
22/11/2018 Duration: 01h16minMy number one tip for exploring abandoned buildings is “Take a Buddy!” I can’t stress this enough! It’s exactly the same as going on a hiking adventure. DO YOUR RESEARCH WHERE TO FIND LOCATIONS! So the number one question I get is "where do you find all of these places?" Well, how do you find Target, or Starbucks, or A Camp Site? You google it, ask someone, or go on instagram! Instagram is the best place to find locations, because of the introduction of hashtags! There are numerous hashtags you can use to find photos and videos of abandoned places, rooftops, cranes, tunnels, trains, and just about anything else you could want to explore. Try searching things like #Urbex, #urbanexploration, #urbanexplore #abandoned, #abandonedhouse #urbex_kings #Kings_abandoned #abandonedlosangeles #abandonedchicago, #abandoneddetroit, #itsabandoned #moodygrams. ASK SOMEONE TO TAKE YOU BRING THE RIGHT GEAR! LEAVE YOUR ID IN THE CAR! TAKE ONLY WHAT YOU NEED GET PAID TO EXPLORE! So, I figured out a way to make money explo

Should You Delete Posts That Get Less Views?
22/11/2018 Duration: 28minThe negative psychological effects of social media can seriously effect some users. It may sound "ridiculous," but we live in a world that we created to drown us in likes and retweets. However, psychology aside, can posts with fewer views on your profile hinder your standing with potential collaborators, clients, or investors? Let's have a chat about it in this week's episode of Project Freelance! @destxn.yy thank you for your question on my Instagram, @KEnagonio. I hope this helps! How To Get More Freelance Gigs | Demo Reels 101
23/10/2018 Duration: 26minDemo reels are the most important asset you have when it comes to getting hired as a freelancer. Why? Well, a demo reel is basically just a collection of your best work and your favorite work. I include "favorite work," because, while it's dope that you've done a bunch of corporate work and weddings, but what have you done that looks badass AND is your own creative work? Why not show it off a little? So, demo reels are not only for filmmakers. Photographers, architects, dancers, athletes, and actors all use demo reels when applying for new gigs. If you watch any sporting event on TV you will see what's known as a "highlight" reel, which shows the best plays that were made in the game, as well as highlight reels of the best players and their achievements. While these aren't "demo reels" specifically, they do the same thing; they highlight the best footage of the best parts of the game. The person who EDITS all of those highlight reels, which I've done a few myself, can then use those videos IN their demo ree

The Truth About Being a Tour Manager // Ryan Sofie
18/10/2018 Duration: 29minI filmed a documentary about Ryan on the 2017 run of Vans Warped Tour. We wanted to redo the main interview for the doco, but it ended up slowing the doco down and took the audience away from the immersive side of tour. So, instead of trashing this interview, I figured, why not still share it with the people out there that want to get into TMing, Production, or if you just want to hear some cool stories. HOW TO CREATE THE NEXT WARPED TOUR W/KEVIN LYMAN!
18/10/2018 Duration: 47minWho will create the next "Warped Tour?" Is it you? Maybe a friend you have? Share this episode with them! It's full of strategies and tips on how Kevin brought "the scene" out of the underground and into the streets, literally...the venues were parking lots, plots of land, stadiums, and I believe they closed down part of the Vegas strip for the final Warped Tour. I have wanted to pick Kevin Lyman's brain since I 2014 and I knew that NOW was the time to do it. Warped Tour has closed it's gates after 24 years of crazy angst-filled summers, and the man behind the whole thing has given his everything to keep it going, and, upon recording this podcast, almost his life. I was met with a post-op Kevin, who, because "the show must go on," let an infection in his knee, that he had replaced, bring him into SCEPTIC SHOCK!! That's some crazy dedication! In this episode of Project Freelance I talk with Kevin about his youth, how he built his legacy, and we talk about how the scene has changed and what the introduction

Advice for Photography Students // Fan Session 2
18/10/2018 Duration: 51minIn July 2018 I made a post on Instagram saying that I wanted to teach one-on-one classes with my listeners and readers, and I asked if anyone would be interested. Book a class with me: Justtheletterk.com/booking On this week's episode of Project Freelance, I have a young photographer joining me. Her name is Nicole, and her user tag is @Kaoruphotography2019, and she reached out to me over Instagram about a photography project she had for a class in school. And since I have a lot of high schoolers that reach out to me about needing advice for their project, I figured that I might as well start with Nicole. I knew that I had to jump on board with this immediately, because I wish I had somebody there for me when I was stuck and had questions. In this episode we discussed Nicole’s project, what her goals are for that project, and how she can take her ideas and turn them into visual works of art. In order for me to help her I had her send me a set of photos she had taken so I could critique them, and I was abs

The Custom Guitar Fretboard Ring // How a Valentines Gift Turned Into a Job // Jareds Ring Shop
10/09/2018 Duration: 47minJared has been designing and creating rings for several years now. It all started out as a romantic gift idea for Valentines day and unexpectedly became a majority of Jared's income. He comes from a construction family so working with the necessary machinery to produce his rings wasn't difficult for him to master. Because Jared spends so much time on the road, working remotely with his construction crew, he had to find a way to make his rings in hotel rooms without leaving a massive mess or disturbing other guests. He has trimmed down his gear to what he can easily carry on the road, which also minimises his space at home, which is also his office. Jared's primary passion lies with wood rings, specifically bentwood rings. He has developed his own steam bending, inlaying, and finishing techniques to produce the sturdiest rings with intricate and unique designs. "I love what I do and truly believe each and every ring that leaves my shop clearly expresses my dedication to the craft!" --- Send in a voice

Rian has always jumped at every musical opportunity, whether it be behind the screen producing or jumping around on stage. The Secret to Success with Nic Bradly of Welcome To The Good Life
03/09/2018 Duration: 01h41sLet’s talk about the law of attraction. You see, when you figure out the secrets to success you will be unstoppable. Our problem, as humans, is that we get so in our heads about the possibility of rejection that we talk ourselves out of taking risks. Instead of convincing yourself not to step outside of your comfort zone, embrace the discomfort, love it, and conquer it, because once you do become comfortable being uncomfortable, your confidence will skyrocket, which will help you grow your business, and personal, relationships. This is only one of the many "secrets" to success that I will be discussing in this episode with my incredibly talented guest, and friend, Nic Bradly, a life-coach, photographer, graphic designer, musician, and host of the Youtube show Welcome To The Good Life! Shooting for Emo Nite - With Alex Wolf | Concert Photography 101
03/09/2018 Duration: 01h01minIn this episode we talk about some of the important health aspects of being a freelancer. We often forget to take care of ourselves, because we are always so hyperfocused on our work. Time management is something I have personally struggled with, For my photographer readers/listeners, it's important for you to build relationships in this industry. You must absolutely be respectful to everyone at the venue. You have to remember that you are there to do a job and so are the venue staff. Do not hassle the security guards, because they are not only keeping the kids and bands safe, but they're also going to be looking out for you. Concert etiquette is extremely vital if you want to succeed in this industry. For classes/booking: http://justtheletterk.com/booking Get Socialistic with me:

How to Create Lasting Content feat. Christina Rotondo | Music & Youtube Tips
03/09/2018 Duration: 01h02minMy guest on this week's episode of your favourite freelancing advice podcast, Project Freelance, is Christina Rotondo, a musician, vocalist, and content creator based in Nottinghamshire in the UK. I sit down with Christina to chat about the current state of the Youtube platform, how it's affecting new and long time content creators, and what it takes to become successful online in an overly saturated market. I know you've probably heard this tale hundreds of times by now, from your favorite creators, whether it's them telling you that vlogging "ruined their relationship" or that they're "quitting the daily videos," etc. etc., but this is not that tale. New creators need to realise how difficult it can be to "make it" in this data filled, fast-paced, instantaneous time we live in.
