"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Every person in the world, no matter where they came from, has baggage. In other words, everyone carries around things that hinder their freedom, progress, and development. It started with Adam and has continued for generations. So WHY are we so afraid to admit we have baggage? If everyone has some, why have we let the devil beat us up so bad over it? Over and over, in the scriptures, we are told to lay aside every weight, cast our cares (bags) on God, and live free from things that hinder us. "We love because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19). It's an appropriate week to talk about the power LOVE has on our identity. We are all shaped by love (or the lack thereof). If identity is a sense of self, than an identifier is something that identifies a person or thing -- in other words, something that reveals identity. Henry Drummond, in his book The Greatest Thing in the World, said: "Would that we could all move into that love chapter and live there." Let's be known for our love ❤️ | LISTEN NOW |

"But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, TPT). Shame is an enemy of confession. But confession holds the power of our freedom so it's obvious why the devil fights us in the realm of guilt and shame. We've all fallen and our prone to do so again at some point. It's easy to lose direction when you're not sure of your identity. And that's been part of our journey on Identity Advantage as we recently made some changes here on the podcast.
