In this video we talk about the one way to take better meeting minutes during meetings in clinical research. Meeting Minutes are an "important" aspect to clinical research because it serves as a document of what conversations took place and decisions that took place during weekly meetings. Typically there are three meetings which require meeting minutes to be written, Calls with the sponsor, Internal team meeting, and a Clinical Research Associate/ clinical team meeting. This has been the standard way to keep track of actions and discussion topics. A short video on some good advice for college grads looking to get into clinical research. I might have been rambling on towards the end but the message is simple. Don't be afraid to try and to fail. Don't worry if clinical research is for you and you love it or find out its not for you and you hate it. Go find something you don't mind doing for a while. If you are working or aim to work in the clinical trials/ clinical research industry you may find yourself on the phone a lot. This mode of communication is vastly different than how we interact in our daily lives for a number of reasons. For One we do not talk on the phones as much in our daily lives we opt for texting and only phone calls for much longer conversations. In the work environment we use email, internal message but sometimes the quickest way to get a response is to opt for a phone conversation. The clinical research community is a small world and people often end up working with/for each other again because it is such a small community. It may seem like a big community because of all of the different companies and vendors, etc. etc. but believe me it is very small and people end up knowing each other. In this video we discuss what a kick off meeting is in clinical research. Many companies may call it different things but they are all the same. The meeting is to assemble the team that is in charge of running the clinical trials, from the project managers, to the data managers, to the Clinical Trial Leads and LCRA's and any sponsor personnel who needs to be present.
