  • Intentionality | Sustainability with Planet Renu (Part One)

    06/05/2020 Duration: 14min

This is part one of a two part interview. I invited Amy, the founder of Planet Renu to join me and share her tips for how to live more sustainable. Amy's company is on a mission "to educate and inspire people to make small changes in their lives and in turn have a large impact on the earth." In our interviews, Amy encourages us on how to go more reusable and make small changes within our day-to-day living. So, our challenge to you is to try taking a to-go cup with you or asking for a ceramic cup next time you go out for coffee or tea. Many places will do this as a way to help minimize waste. (We realize with the COVID outbreak that this may no longer be an alternative. But if/and when it is please consider doing this.) All in all, my takeaway is to look for one small change I can implement each month. Truly small steps can have a big ripple effect. Thank you Amy for sharing so many great tips. Be sure to tune into the following episode where we continue our conversation. For all of the show notes + links clic

  • Intentionality | Scheduling and Planning with Sarah Bragg

    06/05/2020 Duration: 16min

On today's episode I invited my dear friend (and fellow Enneagram 3), Sarah Bragg on the show. Also, please note this episode was recorded prior to the COVID pandemic so we had no idea of how this topic of "working from home" would be SO relevant. I hope you will glean some amazing organizing tips from Sarah. She is a scheduling guru and her planning pages are great. As she and I both share, we encourage you to find what works for you! Don't stress about following something that doesn't "fit" for you. Also, her advice of batching items together is huge. This tip alone can be a game changer. Try implementing this and see how it impacts your time and energy. Be sure to follow Sarah on Instagram, she is super fun, real, and authentic - my favorite kind of person to follow on social. I would best describe Sarah as the girl next door and I LOVE how she encourages us moms to take our smoking breaks (if you follow her in insta you'll know what this means!). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening and sub

  • Bonus Episode | Comfort in Chaos

    01/04/2020 Duration: 15min

This is a last minute episode that I didn't intend to record but felt prompted to do so. I want to first thank all of you who are on the front lines and serving in some capacity with this virus. Our world has turned upside down and I want to offer my heartfelt appreciation and thanks to each of you for your incredible service. Your sacrifice is greatly noticed and appreciated. Secondly, my heart goes out to each of you in your disappointments. There is so much loss right now. From the big to the small, and it all matters. All of these changes and the lack of control that it brings with it is really hard. There is SO MUCH uncertainty. I encourage us to feel all the feels. The roller coaster of emotions is very real right now and all of it is OK. I personally have had my own share of ups and downs. All of this is new and unknown territory. I recommended an  titled "A Message of Hope" (see the link in the show notes). It is very inspiring and provided a lot of hope to me. My encouragement is for us to stay on th

  • Health | Do One Thing

    10/02/2020 Duration: 10min

Well it's time to wrap up season six! Thank you for joining with me as we talked about all things organizing and health. I enjoyed each one of my guests so much and also loved diving into each of the aspects of health. In this final episode, I reveal to you that yes, I too struggle with getting things done. Which is why I titled this episode "Do One Thing." Often, this is the hardest thing to do. We can get stuck and keep zig zagging. It's really easy to find ourselves not really making any forward movement! Please know that you are not alone in feeling overwhelmed! The moral of the story (or episode), is that things generally take longer than we usually think they will. So, when we remember this it can help us to better to set us up for success. Take note the Spring Organizing Challenge starts Monday, 2/10!!! Come join the fun! The challenges are free every season and are designed to help you work through 10 mini organizing projects over 10 days. Lastly, today's episode is sponsored by The Wholesome Home. Th

  • Health | Emotional - Managing Clutter and Stress

    10/02/2020 Duration: 10min

We can tend to underestimate the emotional weight of the clutter in our lives and the stress that it adds. And, while we can't avoid clutter and stress, we can work to mange it by staying in our sweet spot or what I like to call the "Goldilocks" feeling. In this episode, I encourage you to identify if you are more logical or emotional by nature and how you can best stay in the healthy middle ground as much as possible. Then I leave you with three tangible tips to help you take action with improving your emotional health, specifically when it pertains to clutter and stuff. Commit to working to apply the three tips into your day-to-day living. Don't underestimate the emotional toll that your stuff and clutter can take on your life! Today's episode is sponsored by Fridge Coaster. Fridge Coaster makes keeping your fridge organized, clean, and tidy - fun! The shelf liners are made with natural wood pulp and recycled material. They are printed with vegetable based inks. You can even compost the product after use if

  • Health | Physical - Discipline not Motivation

    10/02/2020 Duration: 16min

Suzy shares the mic with me today and she is the perfect person to share all about how to prioritize your physical health. She is an avid runner and is actually featured in the Guinness Book of World Records (you'll have to tune in to hear what for!). Not only is Suzy a mom of four, she also hosts a fabulous podcast called Run Lift Mom. Be sure to go listen and also check out episode 45 when I joined her for an interview. Suzy encouraged me and also helped me to think of motivation in a new way. I think you'll find some great takeaways! Remember to prioritize YOU and your health. For all of the show notes + links click below on the "episode webpage."

  • Health | Occupational - Work + Home + Life

    10/02/2020 Duration: 15min

Monica Leed joins me today. Monica has a design background in the fast-paced film industry. She spent over ten years cultivating curiosity in the art of efficient space design, time management, and the power of organizational systems. Then in 2011, life threw her an unexpected curveball that reminded her that a demanding career without a balanced home life will leave you feeling stuck and uninspired. I loved hearing more of her story, how she discovered how to bring her life into a better balance, and why she wrote her book Simply Spaced. Monica is the CEO and Owner of her brand and company Simply Spaced. For all of the show notes + links click below on the "episode webpage."

  • Health | Relational - Balance and Boundaries

    10/02/2020 Duration: 12min

On this episode, my sweet daughter, Ainsley shared the mic with me. We chatted about how to balance your time and energy with your friends and relationships. Ainsley, at the young age of only 18, is wise beyond her years. She helped to shed some light into what teens are navigating these days, specifically when it comes to technology and accessibility. It's a different culture! And she also shared some great tips on how to use boundaries when necessary. I should mention that I shared that she and I are both 9's on the Enneagram. Well, after recording this episode, I have learned that I'm actually a 3 on the Enneagram. I have some 9 tendencies, but all in all I'm more of a 3. (If you know what I'm referring to this may make some sense, if not just disregard!) Ainsley, however, is still a 9. She is as easy going as they come. • Health | Mental - Unplugging and Prioritizing

    10/02/2020 Duration: 16min

Lisa, also known as "Neatfreak McKinney," grew up in beautiful Idaho as the oldest of seven children. Her mom is also a neat freak. (She had to be in order to stay sane in a house with nine people.) So Lisa learned early on that work always comes before play. It was one of the best things her parents ever taught her. She has always loved taking care of, decorating, and organizing her own home. And when her daughter left for college in 2006, she was heartbroken. Her life as she had known it was forever changed. In her sadness, her sweet friends all encouraged her to start her own business, using her gift of home organization. Which is how "Neat Freak" was born! When you tune in to today's episode, you will hear how Lisa developed her professional organizing business, how she recommends prioritizing your time, and (my personal favorite) why unplugging is SO important for our mental health. Lisa is relatable, realistic, and she is also leading the charge with #realorganizersoninstagram - be sure to go follow! • Health | Spiritual - Practical vs. Perfect

    10/02/2020 Duration: 17min

Micah Maddox is a national women’s conference speaker, Bible teacher, blogger, and author of Anchored In: Experience a Power-Full Life in a Problem-Filled World. She is passionate about helping women find purpose, peace, and calm in our chaotic world. As a pastor’s wife, mother of three, and foster mom, she contributes her time to her family and local church serving as a women’s ministry leader. We discuss how to prioritize and protect your spiritual health. I loved her tangible and realistic tips. As a fellow mom, I was SO thankful that she shared the grace we need to give ourselves. As women, we can tend to be so hard on ourselves, trying to keep up with checklists and to-dos rather than on being. I hope you find much freedom in Micah's words and suggestions. And also that you can remember this: practical is much more important than perfection.
