Ordinary Church

Shepherd's Conference is an annual gathering of pastors from around the world who come to hear expository preaching. Grace Church of Orange had the whole pastoral staff, some elders, as well as a few lay persons who went to be equipped to do ministry more effectively. In this episode, Mike and Winston discuss the highlights from Shepherd's and how the different sessions will help the people of GCO become better third level galley slaves of Christ.

This year at the Master's Academy International symposium, a speaker named Costi Hinn, nephew of Benny Hinn, gave a message on the evils of the prosperity gospel and health-wealth gospel. Mike and Winston discuss how this message is not merely to the pastors who guard the flock, but also to those who are listening. It is the responsibility of all of us to be on guard for the faith and protect against these heresies.

Ephesians tells us that Jesus gave elders as a gift to the church. Titus and both letters to Timothy have extensive information about what an elder is. With such an important topic, we are blessed to have Alexander Strauch, author of "Biblical Eldership", join us as we discuss this topic from Shepherd's Conference 2019.

Abortion is a very touchy subject. The result of our media and culture fanning the flames have elevated tensions on the subject to an uncomfortably high degree. In this episode of Ordinary Church, Pastor Mike and Winston discuss how to respond to those who have been affected by abortion and how to respond to those pushing the pro-choice agenda.
