9 O'clock Meltdown

Jen West is a Duluth native, she started writing songs when she was in high school, and picked up the ukulele as a dare with a friend of hers. She kept playing and teaching her self to sing. Jen has a few solo songs out on iTunes, and went on to be member and co-writer of Space Carpet.

Murder of Crows is a power duo consisting of Alan Sparhawk from LOW and Gaelynn Lea. Alan reached out to Gaelynn to see about a duet, after seeing her perform; she agreed.... the name came later. Alan Sparhawk still tours and records with LOW. Gaelynn Lea is an international touring solo artist.

Back in 2013 two French film directors crossed the pond to showcase their documentary about Duluth native and international musician, Charlie Parr. This interview was done right after their showcase. Francois-Xavier Dubois, and brother Charles Dubois, followed Charlie on his tour through the upper Midwest and finished the documentary at his home in Duluth. You can find the DVD on Amazon.

Head Ned is the lead of a 'Nedal' band, he founded in 2015. They are a Ned Flanders based metal band out of Phoenix AZ. OD just finished up touring Australia, and are now planning a US tour. Greg Jacobs is a traveling storyteller. He usually tells children stories, which he has written himself. But he slips in some adult stories as well.

Tonya is a ceramic artist, and has run and operated Snoodle Ceramic Studios for many years in Duluth MN. Since its multi year run, the physical studio is no more, but Tonya continues to teach and do ceramic art. Half of One Less Guest, a Duluth MN based band joins us at Wussow's Concert Coffeehouse.

Maddy Siiter started out playing open mics at Amazing Grace Cafe in Duluth MN. Throughout playing open mics, she made her way to Wussow's Concert Cafe, Duluth Homegrown Music Festival; then landing a record deal in Nashville TN. She has released two albums, and is now in college. (This is her first ever interview)

Suzy Q is an accomplished self taught singer. Her deep bluesy vocals have can have anyone entranced. She first started her musical career, releasing a hip-hop album that she produced herself; Cupcakes and Battle Axes. Throughout playing local bars, and open-mics, she and a good friend started Rooftop Fable. Even though the alternative rock group is no more. Suzy continues along her musical journey. Rooftop has several albums out.

Emily Jayne is accomplished musician, composer, and Duluth native. She started her musical journey in her early years playing piano and from there went to school for music on the East Coast. She has been featured many times on The Playlist (WDSE Local Programming), Duluth Homegrown Music Festival, as well as many others. You can find her tracks on Spotify.

Music management guru, and businessman Matt Larson joins the 9 O'clock Meltdown; this go around to talk about the dirty and gritty side of the music industry. And we get into deep discussion about the business side of the music scene. And how to market yourself. As well as, a few tangents about our favorite artists! Matt was on the show back in 2017, while managing the local Duluth MN Band; Paper Parlor.

Lillie Lemon of Kinder Creatures, talks about her new endeavor with her partner Eric (both are formally of Lillie Lemon) Kinder Creatures is a take on a new concept album for Lillie, it weaves a story about walls, cities, and werewolves.
