Luke 12:35–40 (ESV) — 35 “Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning, 36 and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. What Jesus told Nicodemus was confusing—to see God’s Kingdom one must be “born again.” The big idea is this: it is only through being recreated by the Spirt (made possible by Jesus’ ministry) that one can be made right before God.John 3:3 (ESV) — 3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
