Aspiration during or prior to starting a surgical procedure is another anesthesia related emergency that require awareness in order to prevent and readiness in management. In a discussion with Dr. Harper, we will discuss how to identify high risk patient in pre-operative and how to change daily practice for office setting sedation in high risk patients. In addition, we will review the pathophysiology of aspiration, consequences of it, management of its complication.
