The Cincinnati Bengals dove into the interior defender waters by finally signing Sheldon Rankins, after a previous attempt in 2021 came up empty, to a 2-year deal. They're hoping he provides the kind of pass rushing juice they've been missing on the interior since Larry Ogunjobi departed. That doesn't close the door to DJ Reader's return - they play different positions on the defensive interior - but it does add something they needed anyway, which is disruption at DT.
