In this week's episode of the Black Girl Nerds podcast, we welcome actor and author Taraji P. Henson.  Taraji P. Henson is an Academy Award-nominated actor, producer, author, and mental health advocate with a globally celebrated career that extends beyond the screen. Most recently, her producorial efforts on the play, JAJA’s African Hair Braiding, earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Play. Henson quickly rose to fame after her breakout performance in the critically acclaimed film Hustle & Flow, which earned her and the cast a Screen Actors Guild nomination as well as the BET Award for Best Actress. She was most recently seen in the award-winning musical adaptation of The Color Purple, for which she won an NAACP Image Award and received a Screen Actors Guild ensemble nomination.
