Human Factors Cast

Dr. Myrtede Alfred is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She conducts research on surgical instrument reprocessing, anesthesia medication safety, robotic-assisted surgery, and maternal health disparities. In her role, she also reviews patient safety incidents and provide human factors expertise on quality improvement efforts. She has over 10 peer-reviewed journal articles and serves as PI or Co-I on several AHRQ-funded grants. She enjoys outdoor activities, good coffee, and David Attenborough documentaries.
