Rick Alan Ross is the founder and the Executive Director of The Cult Education Institute (or CEI). He is a globally recognized expert on the inner workings of destructive cults, controversial groups as well as subversive movements. Rick is also the author of the book 'Cults Inside Out: How People Get In and Can Get Out'. He began his research for the book in 1982, as he began delving into the rising threat that controversial authoritarian groups and movements posed. Ross then later started a website with his archives in 1996, and the CEI now keeps this online archive of his material he collected on cults and controversial groups. As such he has become a qualified and accepted expert witness, who has also testified in court proceedings all across the United States.
