A dysfunctional family limits a child's ability to express feelings, to be nurtured, and even to simply talk about major problems.  It affects our ability to have quality relationships later in life.  When we come from a dysfunctional family, we often grow up compensating by giving ourselves over to codependency, alcoholism, addiction, eating disorders, compulsive behaviors, or by becoming hyper-religious.  We allow shame and low self-esteem to erode the quality of our life.  By focussing on Jesus Christ, we can heal completely, leave the dysfunction behind, and start living the life we were called to by our Creator the Most High God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
