Lorri is a direct-entry Licensed Midwife with over 25 years of birthing experience. She had all of her own 5 children out-of-hospital, and was a nursing mother for about 10 years, so she came to the profession from the perspective of an experienced and well-researched mother who understood the value of all that comprehensive midwifery care offers to families. A spinal injury resulted in several years of disability, which caused all of her previous education and professional licenses to expire before a surgery put her back on her feet. Within weeks she went back to college and was a top honor student while taking triple credit hours to satisfy the prerequisites for re-admission to midwifery school. She completed the rigorous Washington state requirements and testing for practicing midwifery and received her license in March 2008.
