In September 2011, Officer Robert DeNapoli confronted a life-altering incident when he responded to an armed robbery at a jewelry store in Woburn, Massachusetts. As he emerged from his cruiser, he was met with a hail of bullets during a violent shootout. DeNapoli endured multiple gunshot wounds, striking his hand, arms, legs, and, most severely, his left eye. As the first responder to the scene, Bob displayed extraordinary courage by immediately engaging the armed suspect in a fierce exchange of gunfire. Despite taking multiple rounds, he managed to hit the suspect twice.
