The longer I do this work, the more I realize how much the fear of weight gain is one of the absolute, biggest predictors of why we fear intuitive eating.   And I get it- I really do. I learned about intuitive eating way before I actually began my permission stage, meaning I rejected the belief that I needed to diet and gave myself unconditional permission to eat all foods, and truly listen to my body. If you are trying to start this journey, there are a few factors that you are going to need to work through first, or else you will always get stuck.   With clients, we focus on mindset, values, working through barriers, facing fears...including the fear of weight gain...first before we start detailing through the intuitive eating principles.
