#Bible Study With #Jairus #Deuteronomy 18 3 – We Should Take Care of the Presence of God In the Old Testament period, it was the people’s job to take care of the priests and Levites. God did not give the priests land or an inheritance. Instead, the people supported them while they worked full time in the temple. However, in the book of Judges, no one took care of the priests. Instead, everyone did whatever they wanted. If the people did not take care of the priests, the priests could not take care of the tabernacle and the testimony of God. Eventually, it came to the point that priests had to be hired privately by individual families. This principle still applies today. Not only must we be faithful in giving our tithes and offerings to take care of the full-time pastors and church staff, but we also must take care of the “temple of God” within us.
