We're bringing the beauty of Broome onto Canvas this week as Matt Levinson catches up with Bran Nue Dae director Rachel Perkins to wonder why an upbeat indigenous musical is still so groundbreaking - twenty years after Jimmy Chi's version caused such a splash.He'll then creep through the shadows of Sydney's 1970s underground art scene with photographer Greg Weight - an original member of Darlinghurst's infamous Yellow House. Weight's also been involved in a new show called Gula Gama-Li, for which 6 contemporary artists collaborated with 6 indigenous artists to create works about family and landscape. From the desert to disco floor (and back again), that's Canvas, Sunday from 10am.
