Synopsis

When I went into my MBA I was told to “know your A to B” and I took that advice seriously... and it stuck. I mean it was investment of almost $40K for a masters degree so I’d better know what I wanted out of it, right?  So then when I first became a coach, I would encourage my clients to know their A to B when working with me. Made sense at the time. I was more about action, tactics, helping clients overcome blocks and fears to be able to TAKE those actions and hold them accountable as their coach. That’s what I perceived my job to be.  But where I’ve evolved as a coach, especially more recently is coaching in a way (and coaching myself in a way) that allows for more space, intuition and for whatever needs to emerge. My “go to” coaching model definitely is designed for this, but it’s still aimed to be pretty alpha and action oriented.  We can be all about “do, do, do” and I would encourage it to my clients who have TROUBLE taking action.However, it’s the space in the downtime that can be WAY more helpful f
