There aren't too many movies made about mermaids any more. I don't know why this is so, but it's a sad fact that in order to watch a mermaid-themed movie, one has to dig through the archives. Fortunately, this can be fairly rewarding, such as when one finds the 1948 mermaid classic Miranda.
