His interests include all aspects of theoretical and computational geophysics. Nishank also pioneered the work on generating benchmarks for the digital rock physics technology. He received his Ph.D. in geophysics and seismology from Stanford University. SEG awarded him the J. Clarence Karcher Award in 2016.
