Welcome to the seventh episode of 'Cinemafia' – the film-review show where one of us lies. This week: 'Seven Samurai' – a 1954 Japanese epic samurai drama film co-written, edited, and directed by Akira Kurosawa, produced by Toho (of Godzilla fame, released in the same year). As always, we recommend you watch the film before listening, as we don't go over the plot in detail and much of our discussion may otherwise be meaningless and frustrating (if it isn't already). The premise: we review a film, but one of the hosts (the Mafia) is covertly distorting their opinion, and it's the job of the other hosts (the Villagers) to deduce who the Mafia is and thus vote for their lynching... while at the same time everyone (hopefully) provides engaging critical analysis.
