Welcome to the third episode of 'Cinemafia' – the film-review show where one of us lies. This week we review 'The Counselor' – an American, celebrity-filled crime-drama tragedy from 2013, directed by Ridley Scott, and written for the screen by Cormac McCarthy. As IMDB succinctly puts it: “A lawyer finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking.” As always, we recommend you watch the film before listening, as we don't go over the plot in detail and much of our discussion may otherwise be meaningless and frustrating (if it isn't already). The premise: we review a film, but one of the hosts (the Mafia) is covertly distorting their opinion, and it's the job of the other hosts (the Villagers) to deduce who the Mafia is and thus vote for their lynching... while at the same time everyone (hopefully) provides engaging critical analysis.
