Israel's parliament has approved a law under which illegal migrants from Africa can be detained for up to a year without trial, the latest in a series of measures aimed at reducing the numbers of Africans entering the country. Today we hear from a young Eritrean who asked that his name not be used. After crossing the Egyptian border, he was kidnapped and tortured by smugglers until his relatives and friends paid a huge ransom for his release.
