Discussion of Resignation issues in New York State civil service jobs.  After resigning employees may file suit to be reinstated.  These employees may claim that they were coerced or improperly threathened to resign and that they should be reinstated.  Also the resignation statute in New York states employees "MAY" be reinstated within one year.  "May" means just that-the hiring agency or employer has discretion to allow the employee to return.
