I believe that the number one skill that separates successful landscape entrepreneurs from those who struggle year to year is learning to see the business by the numbers. This is a skill that we all know we should invest time and energy becoming better at but for many it something that is easily put off until later. Especially when the economy is up and money is flowing we often times get blind by being busy.  But the problem is when the economy takes a dive the truth behind every business is revealed. For some running their business by the numbers is as automatic as making payroll. For others, its as enjoyable as getting a tooth pulled.
