Alex has what, for many, would be a dream job, working with clubs, brands and athletes on Twitter best practice and strategy around some of the biggest event in the sporting world. This summer alone saw him involved in the Olympic Games in Rio and the UEFA European Championships in France. For others it be a tough proposition with the company being in the news constantly with buyout rumours and most of the coverage has not been in the most positive light. I got the chance to sit down with Alex for half an hour to discuss his time at Twitter as well as the path that led him up to this point. His start in journalism, going to the BBC via the metallics industry, launching BBC Sport on social media during 2007 Rugby World Cup, getting into trouble with the Dutch federation over missing athlete Fanny Blankers-Koen from a London tube map and then finally onto heading up the sports team at Twitter UK.
