Aren’t you thankful that you are not who you were 10 years ago? 20 years ago? In Middle School? I know I am so very thankful that I outgrew the frizzy tight perms and the horrendous multicolored shirt that I thought would be a good idea to wear to picture day. Mostly I’m thankful that I grew out of the negative attitude and insecurities I had as a middle schooler. Even more than that, I am thankful that because of my relationship with God I am able to leave behind the sinful nature of this world. Am I prefect? No. Do I still make mistakes? Yes. Yet because of God’s redeeming love and grace I have a new life and most importantly hope for the future. For this I am extremely thankful! This Sunday I am pressing on in the book of Ephesians and embracing the encouragement that Paul gives to his readers. So be encouraged, God knows who we were. It is up to us to take God at His word about who we now are! We can no longer think of ourselves in the old way, or burden ourselves down with past guilts. In Je
