Pastor Marc Sharp continues our series from the letters written to seven churches found in the beginning of the book of Revelation (last book in the New Covenant). The author of each letter is Jesus. In today's third letter message, to the church in Pergamum, Jesus identifies himself more intensely than in the other letters. According to the scripture, Pergamum was where Satan's throne is and where Satan dwells. Christians in Pergamum faced pagan resistance that could get them arrested, tortured or killed for their faith in Jesus. This letter to Pergamum teaches us that those who walk in the fear of the Lord have nothing to fear from him and will receive his mercy, but those who treat Christ with contempt have reason to fear and tremble.
