HE IS RISEN! (this is where you respond, "HE IS RISEN INDEED!") A Sunday morning became the most important moment in time, when a tomb where an executed Jewish peasant/teacher had been buried, came to be unexpectedly empty. The entirety of the Christian faith rests on this single moment, that through the power of the Spirit, God raised Jesus from the dead. On Easter morning, we remember and celebrate that the tomb is empty, that Jesus has defeated death, that sin has been rendered powerless, and that a new and abundant life is available to all people. This is why we celebrate Easter! In Christ, we become Easter people; resurrection, new life, hope-filled, grateful, self-giving people. The empty tomb isn't just our hope, it's the hope for the world. Being Easter people has emerged as our calling; we carry this proclamation into our world, HE HAS RISEN!
