In this episode Birdman chats with Jill Stanberry with Volunteer Services at Summit Healthcare.   Video @ https://youtu.be/Srbjkf06G-A   There are currently 150 volunteers, year-round and seasonal donating their time to the hospital; 27,000 hour a year. Volunteers make approximately 1500-1700 heart pillows for patients each year. There are 8 pet therapy teams that visit patients in the hospital and cancer center and 5 chaplins for spiritual support and encouragement.  Volunteers are always needed! Monday- Friday with 2 shifts, 8am-12pm and 12pm-4pm with an acception to the Emergency Department.   Ask that minimum commitment is 4 hours a week, for 6 months. Must be at least 14 years old. There will be a background check performed and all volunteers will go through an Orientation like a new hire. Pick up your application at the Information Desk at Front Desk of hospital entrance.
