Where do you stand with Christ? I can’t possibly begin to tell you how many people I have asked this question to over the years. More and more however I find it to be a useless question in our culture. In America 80% of people identify themselves as Christians – yet you and I know that 80% of Americans are not following Christ as disciples in their lives. Jesus in the later part of John chapter 8 stands toe to toe with believers and says there is more to this than believing. Many of the people Jesus confronted in the Treasury believed that He was telling the truth. Many even named Him the Messiah. And yet Jesus then turns to them and says this: Literally: John 8:31-32 (NASB) 31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
