Show Notes: In a 5-4 decision last week, the U.S. Supreme Court noted the Constitution grants authority to the states and to Congress to make rules concerning the drawing of congressional districts. The majority correctly held that the federal judiciary has no legitimate authority to draw congressional districts. To the extent gerrymandering is a problem, the solution is up to the states or to Congress. Congressional districts are a political issue, not a judicial one.
