Late last year, the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals applied the Doctrine of Qualified Immunity to dismiss the lawsuit of Alexander Baxter, who had a Nashville Police Department canine sicced on him after he claimed he had surrendered to law enforcement. We discuss the judicially created Qualified Immunity doctrine and how this case might finally rein it in -- if the US Supreme Court decides to hear Mr. Baxter’s appeal. We’ll keep you apprised.
